The NDP Needs To Be Willing to Lay the Smackdown...
If not, we need a real opposition party that truly opposes the excesses of laissez-faire capitalism. The NDP should throw out all the corporate contracts the BC Liberals have shafted us with. Just tell TREO that their deal was with Campbell and his Liberals and sorry there won't be any more public-private contract. The bridge is now the property of the citizens of British Columbia. Too bad, so sad. Don't worry about the courts, the BC Liberals showed how easily they can be scoffed at. Just make up some law to get around the ruling. Easy-peasy. If the Right is so willing to dump on and throw out union contracts then the Left should be just as willing to screw over corporate interests. If they aren't, then we need to ask ourselves if the left/right paradigm is real or just a false concept meant to ensure the continued reign of corporate oligarchs. Do we live under corporate governance? You think we're free, but free to do what?
